What was the highlight of Casa Bellavista Hostel

Welcoming family run hostal

Centrally located and full of character, this hostal is run by friendly people. We only stayed one night but you could see that it’s their home too. Lots of information and help if you need it, English spoken as well as Spanish. We had a room that was accessed outside of the hostal, down a small lane so it was pretty quiet at night (and this was a Saturday). Comfy beds with duvet and blankets meant I was cosy and slept well in the chilly Bogota night. Hot water and clean bathroom. There is a pet German shepherd at this hostal. I’m not a big dog person but this is a lovely dog, gentle and calm - I was charmed! Breakfast is simple but nice, bread, coffee and a wide selection of fruits in fruit salad.

You are really in the thick of it here. Noise is not a problem but be aware you are in a very tourist-centric part of Candelaria.

Super friendly and helpful staff.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Great laundry service and booking taxi for airport transfers. Convenient location.

Located on a noisy street but staff provided ear plugs. Beds quite solid.

Good quiet private room right in the middle of Candelaria

Great Breakfast, freshly prepared to your taste and it was nice to have one communal table for the breakfast. I had a private room with a separate entrance, very quiet as away from the street. Good hot shower and comfy bed. Very good quality for the price and a welcoming atmosphere.

Very social hostel in the heart of El Poblado

Clean dorms with their own bathroom. The breakfast is basic but good. There's a well-equipped kitchen that you can use and nice spaces where you can chill. It's very easy to meet people in this hostel. And the staff is so friendly and helpful! Also very good location in the heart of El Poblado.

Perfect - a great hostel

What a lovely hostel. The price is great, the rooms were great (we had a private room each), the breakfast is great, the location is great, the dog is great!

Good location

Great location in La Candelaria. Quirky hostel and we had a double room on street front. A bit noisy but not really an issue. Large room with a comfortable lounge area downstairs. Breakfast okay but if leaving before 8am can't have it early .

We felt ripped off by the hostel airport transfer - don't use this service. A taxi is less than half the price and safe and reliable. Also this is the only place during our time in Colombia that charged a credit card fee. Greedy!

What was the highlight of Casa Bellavista Hostel

Lovely time, would stay here again :)

The breakfast was very tasty, and the staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome. I loved Maya, the resident German Shephard!! The other travelers were very nice, and I had a very relaxing stay at the hostel. Beds were comfortable and quiet at night.

Smoking is allowed in the basement floor, which travels up sometimes and makes it difficult to sit in the dining room/living room. There was no way to prevent it. The location of the hostel is wonderful, though the staff warns you to not go to the left side of the road at night, which is just the nature of that area. It's a very safe and touristy area, but I would listen to the staff's warnings at night.

Easy to meet people. Hostel felt like home.

Breakfast was good but not very filling. Coffee and tea provided til 4pm was clutch! The people in the hostel are the best. I met such awesome people there. The upper floor was a cozy place that allowed people to meet really easily. Maya, the German Shepherd is the friendliest dog ever!! I felt like the hostel was like family. There are many travelers who practically live in the hostel with how long they have been there for.

Home from home

The couple who own the hostel are very nice and friendly and couldn't do enough for you. An extremely friendly hostel with a great atmosphere.

As the hostel is right in the centre of La Candalaria it is very noisy at night. Also would have liked a little more at breakfast, some fruit would have been nice.
